Eliminate These Food!
One annoying thing that had to do while I was battling acne was that I had to give up some of my favorite food. Allow me to explain the process again: When refined sugar and meat is ingested by us, during the digestion process, your body will produce more hormones to successfully breakdown the meat and sugar. Unfortunately, your liver is already at its maximum capacity filtering the blood. Picture the hormones as part of an army. When the army is at the checkpoint manned by the similar army, the people manning the checkpoint is definitely going to allow the army to pass through because they are all the same. That goes the same for the detoxifying process by the liver. The liver is unable to differentiate the sugar from the hormones when the hormones are with them.
This brings us to the point that, since we are unable to control our liver directly, we can modify the food we feed to our body. Apart from those mentioned in the earlier articles, here are some food that may aggravate acne.
- Monosodium Glutumate (MSG)
As explained before, processed food not only contain unhealthy high fat content, and sugar, but also high MSG content. Much have been known about MSG and its role in hair loss and causing skin tightening. MSG is widely used as flavor enhancers to improve the taste of the food we consume. Unknowingly, the sweet fruity taste associated with an ice-cream is teeming with it that we unknowingly consume. Remember what was mentioned in the previous articles? It is important to maintain equilibrium in our body by consuming more natural and healthy food over processed one. Eating MSG will not help us in maintaining equilibrium in our body.
Starchy food are food with high carbohydrate content. These food are responsible for giving us the energy required for our daily activities. When they are ingested by us, they break down into sugar such that it temporarily increases our blood sugar level. This results in fresh acne outbreaks as our liver becomes overtaxed again. Again, it is not suggested you totally eliminate starchy food from your diet entirely. Eat in moderation and only what is required for your daily activity. For example, if you are a sedentary worker, then eating 5 bowls of rice is definitely too much for you. Again, the key here is not to overload your body with what is does not. Most of the energy, if not used up, ends up being stored as fat in your body. This ineluctably increases your susceptibility to heart diseases, high cholesterol and a host of other unwanted illnesses.
Bear in mind that the list of food listed here is not exhaustive. You are encouraged to take note of which particular food causes your acne to flare up after consuming them. For example, if you find that after eating beef you have a couple of new pimples appearing the very next day, avoid that food. Habits and cultures are likely to affect how our body responds to certain food.
