Acne Skin Care Treatment (Protect from the Sun)
It has been estimated that around 1 in 7 people in the United States will develop some form of skin cancer in their life. One of the most common conditions is Melanoma. Experiencing one serious sunburn can increase the risk by more than 50%.
In my quest to look for the most appropriate acne care method, I accidentally chanced on the sun to mask my acne skin condition. When I was in my teens, I was frequently involved in sea activities such as canoeing, and I realized that after a day out in the sun, my skin that used to be a horror to look at in the mirror has miraculously become so much better. Thanks to the even tan, my acne skin hardly stood out and usually I would be more than happy to flaunt my temporary acne-free skin after my ‘treatment” from the sun.

However such a joy is short-termed. After some reading on the Internet, it is discovered that the tan that made your skin better did so by drying up a layer of skin. This result in a layer of the epidermis being dried up and the pores are unable to excrete sebum effectively. Periodically, as your skin becomes used to the dryness on your skin, acne will gradually make its come back. Furthermore, such method does not mask the true underlying cause of acne, and the acne care method that I undertook is grossly erroneous.
Research has proven that extensive exposure to the ultra-violet radiation of the sun increases the susceptibility of skin cancer by up to 50%. Definitely skin cancer is not what we want after battling out acne. Hence to treat your acne skin, apply sunscreen lotion of SPF factor above 30 as it effectively screens out the most harmful effects of UV ray. Most people would be worried that the sunscreen applied would clot up the pores resulting in more acne. However, rest assure that most non-oil based sunscreen will not. As a measure of precaution, check the sunscreen with the pharmacists before making your purchase. Most sunscreen require constantly application before they can be effective as they are easily removed by our perspiration and the water we encounter.
Protecting your acne from the sun is important. It also prevents them from acting up when protected by sunscreen, hence acne care via the application of sunscreen is not to be overlooked.
