Acne Care Treatment – Getting the Root Causes

Acne is a tricky problem. Since acne made its appearance, why is it, despite advances in medical treatment and research, still continuing to surface and plague more than 100 million people worldwide? Well, perhaps the answer that I have found out is that people who suffer from acne usually have weaker liver functions. Before you rush out to get a liver detox, allow me to further explain.

Since ages ago, it has been known that the liver is an organ that is able to renew and regenerate itself. Its primary role has been one to filter toxins in the blood that come about from the colon and other parts of the body. When the blood has been cleared, it then further does its role in ferrying nutrients to all parts of the body. As we know earlier, hormones produced by our body is found in our body and some are used to regulate our bodily functions such as the digestion of food. When there is a spike in sugar level in our bloodstream, our body produces more of these hormones to digest and breakdown the sugar. Due to years of eating and living, our liver has lost some of its regenerative purposes. As a result, when there is hormone surge, our poor and overtaxed liver are unable to filter these excessive hormones from the blood, some of the toxins, together with the hormones, go unfiltered to deliver nutrients to our brain. Unknowingly, it results in acne breakouts as the skin attempts to secrete these ‘waste’ through the skin. Combined with dust and dirt from the environment, it provides an excellent condition for bacteria to thrive, resulting in acne.

Especially so, most people who suffer from constant acne breakout have constipation. The solid waste is stored in your body for a longer period of time and your colon reabsorbs the toxins your body is trying to expel. This increases the toxin level in your bloodstream. Furthermore, when you have infrequent bowel movement, there is a chance that the candida yeast growing in the lower digestive tract may go out of control. When these bacteria are found in small amount, they usually cause no harm to our well-being. However, due to the moist environment, the infrequent bowel movement and higher sugar content, they provide an excellent environment for these bacteria to thrive and grow uncontrollably. They produce toxins which further exacerbate the toxin levels in your blood.

Hence, it can be understood why some people is able to indulge in unhealthy, sweet, sugary food and yet enjoy clear skin. Their liver has a much higher detoxifying ability then most people. Using this theory, it can also be explained why women experience acne when they are having their period. The surge of hormone produced as the body prepares itself for pregnancy after expelling the older linings cause a surge in hormones in the bloodstream. Coupled with high sugar and fat content of out daily habit, the overtaxed liver is unable to completely filter the toxins, resulting in acne breakouts.

Fortunately, there are some steps we are able to take to improve the detoxifying ability of our liver without paying a king’s ransom. These are proven methods since ancient times to improve our liver functions and clear our colon via natural methods. Read on as they will be explained in the further articles.
